IELTS Speaking Topics and Vocabulary
Here you can find some of the kinds of common IELTS Speaking topics that you may be asked about.
Sometimes these topics are used in Part 1, sometimes Part 2 and Part 3.
When it comes to preparing for your IELTS Speaking test, research tells us vocabulary is best learnt in context, so it seems logical to study vocabulary by topic.
I do also agree that word lists can be a very useful tool for anyone preparing for the test, if they have plenty of context and examples.
Most topics below has a complete lesson with a vocabulary word list, as well as sample answers to different IELTS Speaking questions. Some have a video so you can see the language in action.
Since you need flexibility when using vocabulary to get a Band 7 or above, I’d say the best study approach is to use the lessons, below organised by topics, to learn lots of vocabulary in context, and also practice using it as much as possible.
